international bookfair?

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the most important international trade fair for content, the center of the international media world, and a major cultural event. This year will be the fair’s 70th anniversary. It has been organized by Frankfurter Buchmesse GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association, since 1949 when 205 German exhibitors met in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt for the first post-war book fair. However, the history of Frankfurter Buchmesse goes back much further – to the 15th century. At that time, Johannes Gutenberg invented book printing just a few kilometers from downtown Frankfurt.

Thousands of exhibitors representing book publishing, multimedia and technology companies, as well as content providers from all over the world gather in order to negotiate international publishing rights and license fees. Last year, around 7,300 exhibitors from over 100 countries, more than 286,000 visitors, over 4,000 events, around 10,000 journalists and 2,400 bloggers took part in the event. The Frankfurt Book Fair will take place from 10 to 14 October 2018 at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The first three days are restricted exclusively to professional visitors; the general public attends the fair on the weekend. Network, market and ensure a strong presence. Showcase your book – and stay relevant for your current and future buyers.
